Bards and Sages has a presence at a variety of social networking and media sites. Our readers should familiarize themselves with the privacy policies of such sites. While we treat any private messages or communication through such sites with the same care as messages sent to us directly via email, readers should be aware that each site has its own policies and that we have no control over those policies.

We currently use PayPal and Google Pay to process payments to most vendors and authors. We also use PayPal to process payments made to us for services or reading fees.

Bards and Sages Publishing uses 1099Online.com to process 1099 forms for the IRS.

We are a participant in Affiliate programs through Amazon.com, Smashwords.com, Indiebound.org, and Onebookshelf.com.
Neither Amazon, Indiebound, nor Smashwords provides personally identifiable information regarding customers to Bards and Sages Publishing. Onebookshelf does provide personally identifiable information, however you can restrict or limit this information in your account settings at their site. Bards and Sages does not export or store this information.
E-Mail Retention Policy
General Correspondence (Basic inquiries, comments, feedback, etc): 60 days
Fiction, Art and RPG submissions: Six months for submissions that are not accepted for publication.
Legal Retention Requirements: E-Mails related to payments, tax information, contracts, etc are retained in compliance with the governing state and federal laws.
Information We May Collect
Bards and Sages Publishing does not maintain a user database to access the site. We only request personal information if it is needed to process a request from you. Examples of the type of information we may request: We may request an author or contractor provide a valid W-9 before entering into a contract or agreement. We may request a mailing address to send physical books owed to a contributor. We may request a valid PayPal email address in order to process a payment due to you.
Information We May Share
In order to fulfill certain requests or legal requirements, we may need to share information you provide us with others. Examples of information we may share include: Providing your mailing address to our print partner in order to have books drop shipped to your address. Information provided to complete 1099s to be filed with the IRS for contractor payments over $600 or royalty payments over $10, as required by law. Providing your name and email address to a digital retailer in order to deliver digital content you requested. In all cases, Bards and Sages Publishing does not use data processing software to handle these requests. Each request is handled on a case-by-case basis.
Legal Reporting
Please note that our privacy policy applies to individual consumers and authors that may visit our site or contact us. Business entities that send us unsolicited business correspondence are not covered under this general privacy policy. We reserve the right to report suspicious business correspondence to the appropriate authorities. In addition, while we do not actively collect personal information from visitors, we may be required by law to report communications sent to us unsolicited that are related to a crime. This includes threatening emails, private messages, or posts on our blogs.
